"The way to develop the habit of savoring is to pause when something is beautiful and good and catches our attention – the sound of rain, the look of the night sky – the glow in a child’s eyes, or when we witness some kindness. Pause… then totally immerse in the experience of savoring it."

"I am awfully sentimental. Of books,
belongings, people, places. It matters very little
how positive or negative the experience was. If
it shared some meaningful time in my life, I’ll
have trouble letting go."

After losing my love to mental illness, good things seem to now be happening to me.

I got all 5 jobs I interviewed for, I got a new car, I won a contest, and I was ensured a great place to live next year.

This is making me feel happier but the time has not yet passed for me to fully heal. I am thinking of how deeply and desperately my love is suffering. He is no longer the same person. He’s not the boy I loved anymore, but I still love the person he was before. I’m in love with a memory.

"A bodhisattva doesn’t have to be perfect. Anyone who is aware of what is happening and who tries to wake up other people is a bodhisattva. We are all bodhisattvas, doing our best."
